DESCRIPTION:During a two-day workshop\, participants will first be given a
 n introduction into the theoretical concepts of machine learning by Prof. 
 Dr. Christian Bauckhage (Uni Bonn). In the second part\, hands-on applicat
 ion sessions will allow the participants to employ machine learning on the
 ir own using Google Colab. On the second day\, presentations from the fiel
 ds of mathematical modelling in the life sciences\, physics and neuroscien
 ce will provide insights into the application of machine learning in the v
 arious research fields. Last but not least\, we will conclude with a keyno
 te lecture by Prof. Dr. Aimee van Wynsberghe on “Repairing AI for Enviro
 nmental Justice”.
