Why do sex and gender matter in medical and health research?
Laura Wortmann examines how sex and gender shape research inclusion and outcomes. Drawing on concrete research examples, the presentation discusses challenges and opportunities for integrating sex- and gender-sensitive perspectives to enhance scientific rigor and health equity.
The symposium will be complemented by two scientific talks focusing on how the research plans were influenced by implementing sex- and gender dimensions, what the challenges are, what best practices have been identified, and where limitations are encountered.
